Here’s a little bit about us!

The Green Ball Company is a Family run Irish company which currently focuses on the design and creation of a specialized training and match day products for Gaelic football and Soccer, Ireland’s most popular sports. Born from the love of Goalkeeping we founded a company to start looking at how we could help Goalkeepers and players improve their training and game experience. With our experience as a professional Goalkeeper and Goalkeeping Coach for over 40 years in this specialised position we decided to make it our mission to help Goalkeepers be the best they can be. This has now become our mission statement. # Be the Best you can Be.

We practise this statement everyday by making products that don’t just fulfil a purpose but have added value and improve the experience, and make the player better for using our products. We innovate and make things better.

Such as our first product called the Green Ball, a football that has the same dimensions as a regular size 5 football, but is heavier but still plays as a normal ball. Its primary use is as a training aid to facilitate players in their game-related practice using a ball as they normally would, but with a tailored resistance because of the weight. The Green Ball enables players to apply additional load to the everyday skills they practice when training, e.g. kick-outs, kick passing, shooting, hand passing and catching. The principle of training overload in the skills domain enables the player to train every aspect of the skill concurrently- the physical, physiological, neural and biomechanical variables of a skill can all be practised with resistance in game-specific scenarios. The Green Ball is an innovative product for training and performance.

Then we looked at the kicking Ts, and thought what do we need to improve here, well we needed a kicking T that would hold the ball steady for a start, then we looked at the most efficient flight path a ball can take maximising the energy of the Goalkeepers kick, and designed our Champo Kicking T. We even looked at how we can reduce the drag from the T on the ball as it sat on the T, the Champo T allows the grass to funnel up to hold the ball as if its floating on top of the grass.
